George groves and callum smith to meet in Saudi Arabia on September 28 in a World Boxing Super Series Final Middleweight showdown. The winner of the boxing super series will receive the Muhammad Ali trophy.
Earlier this year, Groves beat Eubank Jr in an amazing showdown between two very skilful fighters, which groves came out on top, by out boxing the heavy handed Eubank Jr. As well as that, Callum Smith was supposed to fight Jürgen Braehmer but Jürgen had to pull out of the fight due to an injury, so instead he fought the Dutch man Nieky Holzken, where Callum came out on top and won the fight by showing his boxing skill and class and winning by unanimous decision on the night.
A lot of fight fans criticized the Boxing association for making the fight happen in Saudi Arabia, the fans mainly were baffled and annoyed by the decision. one of the fans stated on twitter ” Why on Earth is Groves vs Smith being held in Saudi Arabia? 2 British Fighters, fighting for a world title and its not being held in their home country in front of their own loyal fans who travel up and down the country watching them?!
