Joshua To Face Povetkin in September

Britain’s Anthony Joshua will look to defend his unified heavyweight title against Russia’s Alexander Povetkin when the two meet in a title fight this September. The fight will be held in Wembley, which has a capacity of 90,000.

The unbeaten champion has had 21 fights, 20 on them coming by way of knockout.  Where as the bull like fighter Povetkin, has had only 1 professional defeat in a one sided fight against the heavy handed Vladimir klitscho. Both fighters are former Olympic heavyweight gold medallists.

This fight will definitely be Joshua’s hardest fight yet, not because the Russian is amazingly strong, but the Russian if as tough as a bull and can definitely take a punch, this will be a test of Joshua’s skill and courage to the max.

AJ is ranked number 1 in the world and UK heavyweight boxing standings. Povetkin is ranked third in the world and 1st in Russian heavyweight boxing standings.

George groves Vs Callum Smith Confirmed to be in Kings sports city Saudi Arabia

George groves and callum smith to meet in Saudi Arabia on September 28 in a World Boxing Super Series Final Middleweight showdown. The winner of the boxing super series will receive the Muhammad Ali trophy.

Earlier this year,  Groves beat Eubank Jr in an amazing showdown between two very skilful fighters, which groves came out on top, by out boxing the heavy handed Eubank Jr. As well as that, Callum Smith was supposed to fight Jürgen Braehmer but Jürgen had to pull out of the fight due to an injury, so instead he fought the Dutch man Nieky Holzken, where Callum came out on top and won the fight by showing his boxing skill and class and winning by unanimous decision on the night.

A lot of fight fans criticized the Boxing association for making the fight happen in Saudi Arabia, the fans mainly were baffled and annoyed by the decision. one of the fans stated on twitter ” Why on Earth is Groves vs Smith being held in  Saudi Arabia?  2 British Fighters, fighting for a world title and its not being held in their home country in front of their own loyal fans who travel up and down the country watching them?!  Baffling Descision.groves-smith-poster
